Construction of integrated passenger transport terminals in Bratislava - Bratislava - Vrakuňa, project preparation (DSPRS) and implementation

The implementation of the ITI project will contribute to the specific objective of the PSK ‘Promoting sustainable multimodal urban mobility as part of the transition to a net-zero carbon economy’; through the modernisation and reconstruction of infrastructure for ITS and urban rail transport. The result of the project is the provision of the implementation project documentation and the subsequent implementation phase of the project. The construction of the terminal will allow passengers within the Integrated Transport System (ITS) to switch seamlessly and quickly from ITS track-based means of transport to ITS public transport and vice versa. The construction of the terminal will create a transfer point between transport modes and systems that will allow the redirection of other transport modes to rail. The proposed construction solution and technical equipment of the personal terminal should serve the smooth transfer of persons. The construction of integrated passenger terminals and their integration into the network of the integrated transport system creates more favourable and better quality conditions for passengers using public passenger transport, which will incentivise residents of the sites in question to favour public passenger transport over individual car transport. This impact on the division of transport work will be reflected in smaller car intensities on the road, fewer emerging congestions, fewer emissions, higher network capacity and, last but not least, more efficient traffic management. The main benefits of the project are: - increasing the attractiveness of public passenger transport through the construction of a new transfer terminal, - improving the quality of services provided by public passenger transport (saving travel time, increasing the range of services, increasing comfort and reliability, etc.), - infrastructure enabling an increase in the share of public passenger transport passengers in the division of transport work, - reducing negative environmental impacts (reduction of noise load and CO2, NO2 and PM10 emissions). The implementation of the project by increasing the attractiveness of public passenger transport will contribute to increasing the share of public passenger transport in the division of transport work and the substitution of individual car transport for rail or other public transport, thereby promoting sustainable mobility and the resilience of the transport system in the territory of the Bratislava region. Enhancing sustainable mobility and the resilience of the transport system is a strategic objective of the Integrated Territorial Strategy 2021-2027 ('IUS'). Within the framework of the IUS, priority 1.D. Ensure the development of an integrated public passenger transport system, specific objective 1.D.1 Improvement of the integrated transport system and modernisation of the vehicle fleet. The project will also contribute to the reduction of negative environmental impacts in the Bratislava Self-Governing Region in the form of emission reductions through the reduction of the share of individual car transport. Risks: 1) risk of non-compliance with the construction schedule due to weather conditions and other factors severity: Medium risk elimination measures: quality project management and set-up of alternative procedures. 2) risk of non-fulfilment of measurable indicators severity: Medium risk elimination measures: adherence to the construction schedule and the deadline for putting the work into use and appropriate adjustment of the train transport chart. 3) risk of non-compliance with the project budget materiality: Medium risk elimination measures: correct setting of the contractual conditions for the realization of the work, compliance with technical and technological solutions according to the approved construction project. 4) risk of non-approval of non-refundable grant applications seriousness: Medium risk elimination measures: thorough preparation and cooperation of all actors involved.
