Electrification of the line Haniska pri Kosice - Moldava nad Bodvou, realization - 2nd phase

The purpose of the project "Electrification of the Haniska line near Košice - Moldava nad Bodvou, realisation - Phase 2" (hereinafter referred to as "Phase 2 of the Project") is to convert motor traction into more energy-efficient electric traction. The object of the 2nd phase of the Project is the electrification of the existing semi-double track No 109 A (according to TTP) in the section Haniska pri Košiciach - Veľká Ida - Moldava nad Bodvou. The construction of the electrification of the railway line in the section Haniska pri Košiciach – Moldava nad Bodvou is of a line character and its construction site is located on the territory defined by the existing railway lines: Košice – Plešivec railway line (109 A according to TTP) and Medzev – Moldava nad Bodvou railway line (111 according to TTP). The main objective of Phase 2 of the Project is to achieve better passenger transport comfort by improving driving dynamics and better track equipment. The interplay of passenger and freight trains on the electrified section will also be improved. Another objective is to improve the parameters of the line and the use of the workforce. The electrification of the line will allow the connection of the train transport of that section to the integrated transport system of Košice. The project will build on the activities of the OPD 2007-2013 programming period, when the project preparation of the project and the OPII 2014-2020 programming period started, when the first phase of the Project was ongoing. Košice is an important railway hub of Eastern Slovakia. To the south-west of Košice, a semi-double track runs to Plešivec and Zvolen, which will only be electrified in the Košice-Haniska section near Košice after the completion of the project as a whole. The line is part of the main southern railway corridor Košice – Zvolen – Bratislava, which is included in the comprehensive TEN-T network. ŽSR’s intention is to continue the project preparation and subsequent electrification works in the direction of the Banskobystrický kraj in the sections Moldava nad Bodvou – Fiľakovo and Fiľakovo – Zvolen). The main benefits of Phase 2 of the project are: improving the quality of services provided by public passenger transport (saving travel time, increasing the range of services offered, increasing comfort and reliability, etc.), infrastructure enabling an increase in the share of public passenger transport passengers in the division of transport work, reducing negative environmental impacts (reduction of noise load and CO2, NO2 and PM10 emissions). The implementation of Phase 2 of the Project will contribute to the objectives and expected results of Action 3.1.1 Removing key rail infrastructure bottlenecks through the modernisation and development of major railway lines and nodes under Specific Objective ODR3.1 Developing a sustainable, climate-resilient, smart, secure and intermodal TEN-T Programme Slovakia 2021-2027. The implementation of the main activity of the 2nd phase of the Project will achieve the declared target values of measurable indicators in the following way: Length of reconstructed or upgraded TEN-T lines: a measurable indicator with a target value of 20,6100 km will be filled with the completion of the construction (work) and demonstrated by the Takeover Protocol in accordance with the Contract for Work at the end of the implementation of the main activities of the project. The MU value results from the length of the line included in Phase 2 of the Project; Time savings due to better rail infrastructure: a measurable indicator with a target of 559.9613 man-days/year will be met within the project sustainability period. The indicator shows the total saving in passenger transport time in man-days per year. Quantification based on CBA data; Annual users of newly built, upgraded, reconstructed or upgraded railway lines: a measurable indicator with a target value of 9 297 643.7896 person/year will be met in the framework of the sustainability of the project. The indicator expresses the total number of passengers in passenger-kilometres per year. Quantification based on CBA data; Rail freight transport: a measurable indicator with a target value of 35 624 868.8250 tonnekm/year will be met as part of the sustainability of the project. The indicator expresses the total amount of freight transport in tonne-kilometres per year. Quantification based on CBA data. It is also necessary to follow the measurable indicators that were the subject of the 1st phase of the Project: Total length of reconstructed or renovated railway lines: a measurable indicator with a target value of 21,5100 km will be filled with the completion of the construction (work) and demonstrated by the Takeover Protocol in accordance with the Works Contract. Its value represents the length of the section Haniska pri Košiciach – Moldava nad Bodvou – Moldava nad Bodvou mesto; Total length of reconstructed or renovated railway lines on the TEN-T network: a measura
