Modernisation of the railway line Žilina – Košice, section Poprad Tatry (outside) – Krompachy, Construction A.1 Poprad Tatry (outside) – Vydrník

The purpose of the Project "Modernization of the railway line Žilina - Košice, section of the line Poprad Tatry (outside) - Krompachy, Construction A.1 Poprad Tatry (outside) - Vydrník" is to modernize and rebuild the railway transport road and its technical parameters in the section Poprad-Tatry (outside) - Vydrník. The scope of the building composition Construction A.1 Poprad-Tatry (outside) - Vydrník, modernization of the railway line Poprad-Tatry (outside) - Vydrník consists of UČS 08. 09, 10, 11, 12 UČS 14 ŽST Krompachy - ŽST Poprad Tatry - radio system GSM-R and ETCS, L2 (in section UČS 5-12), part A.1 radio system GSM-R, UČS 15 Reconstruction of traction converters (in section UČS 5-12), designated PS/SO1: UČS 05 track section Markušovce - Spišská Nová Ves RS, UČS 06 track section Spišská Nová Ves - Výhybňa Spišské Tomášovce, UČS 07 track section Spišské Tomášovce - Vydrník in the line from Vydrník Railway Station (including) to Poprad Tatry RS (košické zhlavie), nžkm 184,050 - nžkm 197,483. In the section is located and the project solves ŽST Vydrník (nžkm 184,775), Stop Hôrka (nžkm 187,670), Vyhybňa Hozelec (nžkm 191,244) and Stop Gánovce (nžkm 192,200), Želežniná stanica Poprad Tatry (košické zhlavie) (sžkm 199,390). The construction also includes the construction of temporary switches in the original axis of the track to cope with lockout conditions, namely the Letanovce temporary switch (szkm 180,840) and the Gánovce temporary switch (szkm 193,350). Determined PS/SO from UČS 05, UČS 06 and UČS 07 are necessary to ensure operation during construction and proper functionality of the railway infrastructure after the completion of construction A.1. The main objective of the project is to achieve better transport comfort of passengers by improving driving dynamics, better track equipment and its higher connectivity within the development of TENT-T in order to improve rail transport parameters. The construction after implementation will meet the requirements for ensuring the interoperability of the European railway system within the meaning of Act No 513/2009 on railways and amending certain acts, as amended. The upgraded railway line will serve the general public – all rail users, including domestic and foreign carriers. The implementation of the Project will contribute to the achievement of the objectives and expected results of Action 3.1.1. Removing key rail infrastructure bottlenecks through the modernisation and development of major railway lines and nodes under Specific Objective RS03.1 Development of a climate-resilient, sustainable, smart, secure and intermodal TEN-T Programme Slovakia 2021-2027. The main benefits of the project are: -improvement of the quality of services provided by public passenger transport (saving travel time, increasing comfort and reliability...) -infrastructure allowing to increase the share of concessionary public passenger transport in the division of transport work The tasks of modernising the line section in question are further: increase in line speed to 160 km/h, ensure vehicle throughput for the UIC C kinematic gauge and IUC GC gauge, ensure the load carrying capacity of the railway superstructure and the corresponding load carrying capacity of the railway sleeper bed for the load rating class D4 UIC (axle weight 22.5 t), build railway bridges which are designed for load according to STN EN 1991-2 using the load model LM-71, factor α = 1,21 and SW/2 (static effect of vertical load from heavy rail traffic) or SW/0, which is applied only to continuous bridges. The spatial arrangement of the bridge structures is solved in the whole section with the application of the gauge MPP 3,0R + reserve 125 mm according to STN 73 6201, conversion of railway stations to achieve useful lengths in the main tracks for prevention of minimum 750 m, in other traffic tracks 700 m (exceptionally 650 m), construction of platforms with edges 550 mm above the top of rail (hereinafter referred to as "TK") length 200 m in all stops and stations, peronization with collision-free - extra-level access of passengers and adjustment of all roads for pedestrians in the areas of stations and stops for persons with limited mobility, adaptation of public areas of the receiving building and information systems to increased demands by standards of services, information systems and travel culture depending on existing and anticipated forward-looking frequencies of passengers, replacement of level crossings with road roads - construction of new structures of overpasses, underpasses and underpasses with related road roads, or cancellation without replacement, complex conversion of AC traction lines for an operating speed of 160 km/h + 30%.
