The aim of the national project is to contribute to the setting of strategies and policies based on data-driven needs and to contribute to the systematic monitoring of the effectiveness and targeting of inclusive policies/strategies/programmes/projects with an impact on the mental health of children, pupils and students. The main objective of the national project is to ensure nationwide representative data collection and to issue the first National Report on the current picture of mental health of children, pupils and students in Slovakia 2026 with the identification of newly emerging needs for mental health support and recommendations for policies and practices in the education sector and other affected sectors. The sub-objectives of the national project are: set up and verify the tools and model of the regular collection system, including the methodology for evaluating and comparing data on the mental health of children, pupils and students in Slovakia from entering the MINEDU to completing the training for the profession set up and implement the process of preparing, consulting and disseminating the regular National Report on the Image of Mental Health of Children, Pupils and Students in Slovakia, including the issue of the first National Report on the Image of Mental Health of Children, Pupils and Students 2026 Train pedagogical and professional staff in working with a screening tool for auto-evaluating the mental health of pupils/students at school level in accordance with the findings of the National Report Educate at least 170 pedagogical and professional staff from ZPP, SVZ and schools in interpreting the collected data and in setting up programmes/strategies for identified needs at region level Ensure at least 9 examples of good school practice in the comprehensive set-up of mental health measures based on data analysis The direct target group of NPs are direct participants in educational activities: teaching and professional staff at schools (SPT coordinators; school management representatives) teaching and professional staff from counselling and prevention facilities and special educational facilities.
