Integration of third-country nationals, including migrants

The purpose of the national project is to ensure the timely integration of third-country nationals during their legal stay on the territory of Slovakia through the provision of a set of supported activities within the meaning of the IO. The aim of the NP is to strengthen the quality of activities related to the long-term integration of persons of the target group with an impact on their inclusion and quality of life in the community. A significant proportion of the target group’s persons are displaced persons from Ukraine. However, migration and integration are not just about them. The integration of all third-country nationals living on the territory of the Slovak Republic is extremely important and should lead to mutual adaptation of both foreigners and the receiving population. This will have an impact on the development and implementation of effective migration policy at national and regional level and the transfer of information from the NGO environment to the international level, while strengthening cross-sectoral dialogue. The national project shall be implemented in accordance with horizontal principles, taking into account respect for the principle of equal treatment and active support for men and women in all activities and activities, in particular as regards access to employment, remuneration and promotion, vocational training and working conditions. The national project will need to remove barriers and prevent all forms of discrimination, create conditions that take into account the specific needs as well as experiences of diverse population groups, and ensure the accessibility of the physical environment, transport, information and public services for people with reduced mobility and sensory orientation, in line with Article 9 of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Identifying and addressing the needs of the target group's people based on the experience and expertise of municipalities and non-governmental non-profit organisations are the expected results of the national project. Their developed capacities will enable them to respond effectively to the changing needs of the target group. MRVs have the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and to respond to new trends in the integration of persons of the target group. Municipalities, as frontline actors working with residents, have an essential role to play in the success of integration activities and in improving people's quality of life.
