The purpose of the project is to revitalise the neglected area of the former mine in Handlová and transform it into areas enabling the development of industrial production and services that will contribute to the return and maintenance of a clean environment in the region, by adhering to high environmental standards, as well as by creating innovative solutions in the form of green energy, circular economy or other environmentally positive technologies. Remediation of a large plot of land directly in the city center will improve the environment, create employment opportunities and increase living standards. The technical infrastructure will be built according to the most demanding criteria, along with a new access road to the site. Preparing the area for the industrial park is the first step in the rehabilitation of former mining areas, which are closed and non-functional for various reasons. This represents an important contribution to the overall transformation of the region. An important fact is that the territory will be prepared for business projects with low energy intensity and environmentally sustainable economy.
