The operation is included in the European Battery Innovation EuBatIn project which is an IPCEI Important Project of Common European Interest to strengthen cooperation in battery research and innovation in Europe EuBatIn supports the development of innovative battery technologies across the battery value chain IPCEI's ultimate goal is a safe circular and sustainable battery value chain The creation of batteries that will be more sustainable throughout their life cycle is key to achieving the EU's ambitious climate targets The overall project was notified to the EU jointly by several MS countries and received State aid approval in 2021 It will be completed in 2028
