The archaeological site of Kydonia is located on the hill of Kastelli and in the neighboring district of Splatza The building remains of the Minoan years revealed on the plot belong to successive phases and date back to the Neopalatial period The use of the site was probably as a sanctuary while after the destruction by fire in 1450 BC the site was used as a laboratory site.
