The purpose of the operation is to upgrade the road lighting network of the Region of Attica to roads of its competence and the simultaneous installation of a system of remote supervision and management of the new LORAWAN type luminaires.The operation is a top priority for the Region of Attica as it leads to the reduction of the cost of operation and maintenance of the installation and at the same time to significant levels of energy savings compared to the existing LORAWAN network.In particular, energy savings rise to levels above 60 °C. With the system of remote management and supervision, the Region of Attica can receive direct signals for the condition of the luminaires throughout its network and at the same time plan repairs of invasive or preventive maintenance.The management system will constitute the introduction of the Region of Attica in the era of interconnected infrastructure networks and will open new possibilities in the management of the infrastructure elements of the LORAW.
