Upgrading of the national high-performance supercomputer Phase A GRNET SA develops and operates the high-performance computing system ARIS Advanced Research Information System to support large-scale scientific applications ARIS is the strongest computing system in Greece for scientific applications It was put into operation in July 2015 by GRNET SA offering a powerful research tool to the Greek scientific community The rate of its use reached 100 in a very short time from the time it was put into operation while the average annual use of its resources exceeds 94C. The success of the ARIS computer system is due to the need of the academic and research community for great computing power in areas of science such as biochemistry, climate, meteorology and fluid engineering, the lack of a corresponding system in the Greek territory and the continuous support and training provided by GRNET SA to research and academic institutions ARIS will not be able to meet the continuously growing domestic demand for computing power and needs expansion GRNET SA in order to continue the provision of high-performance services to research and academic institutions The proposed project includes the supply and installation of additional high-performance computing equipment to meet the current and future needs of the research and academic community over a two-year period.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
