DUTH operated the Advisory and Accessibility Structure of DPSYP from April 2018 to August 2023 offering multifaceted work both in the field of Counselling and Accessibility DUTH has established the Equivalent Access Unit for Persons with Disabilities and Persons with Special Educational Needs in accordance with Law 49572022, which now starts operating normally DUTH. Until October 2023, its services were covered by DPSYP. The main objective of this act is the operation of the Unit until 2029 and aims to introduce a larger percentage of students with disabilities and special educational needs in DUTH to support already enrolled students with disabilities or special educational needs in the completion of their studies and in raising awareness among the academic community. with disabilities and special educational needs in higher education The operation of the Equivalent Access Unit is considered imperative as it will monitor educationally the beneficiaries already registered by the DOSYP and will ensure that newly admitted students do not abandon their studies and have a favourable educational environment Through the project, the following actions will be supported Operation of the Equivalent Access Unit Production of accessible textbooks Adaptation of websites of the Departments of the DUTH Continuation of the operation of accessible workstations for and with NRLs within the Library area of the DUTH Interpretation of Greek Sign Language Supporting the movement of NRLs and with NRLs from and to the DUTH Personalized recording of needs and provision of facilities for NRLs and with NRLs Awareness raising academic community and residents of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Exporting statistics Creation of virtual metaverse environments in which NRLs and with NRLs can enter and settle issues of student life problems
