The Municipality of Ioannina with this Act aims at the implementation of a unified smart city platform that will integrate data and functions from individual smart applications and services providing in a structured way data and services to citizens, visitors, businesses and executives of the Municipality for areas such as waste collection, environmental data, public electricity consumption in public buildings, data of urban interest and tourism promotion Based on the logic of the Internet of Things, it will collect data produced from various sources and then normalize them into a form that is suitable for further use and exploitation. the operational complexity between the services of the Municipality and to assist the decision-making of those responsible on the basis of real live dataThe Smart City Platform will be an open architecture and based on the internet cloud-based cloud will allow the collection of data from the Municipality's systems as well as from various interconnected devices that will be installed in city infrastructures making use of the internet interface and transferring the information to the cloud The Platform will exploit the advantages of Internet of Things IoT technologies by interconnecting citizens data processes and objects in order to achieve the monitoring of all the factors that affect the life of the city
