The project is located in the prefecture of Attica and in particular in the Eastern Thriasio Pedio The Agios Georgios torrent is the second most important torrent of the Thriasio Pedio after the Sarandapotamos torrent with a catchment area of about 1100 sq km along with the Black Hour and Refinery torrents It starts from Parnitha and enters its lowland bed at the height of the tornado of the Mornos aqueduct at an altitude of about 1500 m where the upstream part of the project is located.
