Restoration and promotion of the ancient Gymnasium of Delphi The ancient Gymnasium of Delphi is located east of Castalia Pigi and is an organized complex of sports facilities measuring 200 x 65 m which is developed in two terraces shaped with curated terraces the upper terrace includes the sidewalk and the scraper while in the lower terrace are the palaestra the baths of the athletes and an open circular reservoir The initial phase of construction of the Gymnasium dates back to the third quarter of the 4th century BC while its use continued until the 3rd century AD with various modifications and repairs such as the strengthening of the wall of the scraper during the Roman period and the construction of the Roman thermals in 120 AD northwest of the circular reservoir.
