The operation will be implemented based in the offices of the RDF of Western Macedonia and for the period starting from the date of its inclusion estimate 82024 until the end of 2029 The main factors that define the necessity for the operation of the RIS Structure are the complexity of development issues, the need to measure the effectiveness of the RIS strategy, the need for a decentralised structure to monitor and accelerate the implementation of the RIS policy at regional level, the lack of the Region in the main indicators of research innovation and competitiveness, the involvement of multiple levels of government and decision-making in the implementation of the RIS as well as the limited specialized human resources mainly from the side of the public sector RIS Structure will try to achieve 1 facilitation of the interconnections of academic research bodies with enterprises 2 facilitation of the integration of research into local enterprises 3 adoption of good practices and examples from other Greek and European regions 4 contribution to the rational use of public resources and incentives for innovation and entrepreneurship 5 facilitation of development decision-making based on evidence and data 6 facilitating the interconnection of the regional and local labour market with enterprises 7 increasing the positive impact of the actions of actors of the innovation ecosystem 8 linking with other structures supporting employment innovation and entrepreneurship
