The Natural Environment and Climate Change Organization NECCA was established by Law 46852020 and has as its main purpose the implementation of the policy established by the Ministry of Environment and Energy for the management and conservation of protected areas in Greece The organizational structure of NECCA includes 24 NECCA Protected Areas Management Units covering all areas of the NATURA 2000 network in Greece. The purpose of the project is to support the entry into operation of NECCA and those NECCAs that have not substantially pre-existed as fully functioning NECCAs in order for the new management structure of the protected areas described in Law 46852020 to function efficiently and effectively.
