Bioclimatic regeneration at Kolokotroni street, Municipality of Rethymnon The study area has a total area of approximately 7400 m2 and is located on the south side of the city of Rethymno with a total length of an intervention axis of 55200 m It is a road of average width of 850m developed on the east-west axis in an urban neighborhood of the city Kolokotroni Street belongs to the wider area of Kallithea geomorphological feature of which is that it is bounded to the east by the stream Koraka Kamara and to the west by the stream Kamara. Loading and unloading places near supermarkets and shops and 3 parking places for people with disabilities Sidewalks are widened to a large extent From 1190 m2 total pavement area which originally existed the new sidewalks have an area of 2720 m2 i.e. the increase is at a rate of 125 Pedestrian movement Sidewalks are redesigned with a width of 375 m equally distributed on both sides of each road with special attention to be guaranteed and at the most unfavourable points free-riding zone with a minimum dimension of 155 m The ramps of adjustment with the road are inclined up to 8 and are shaped appropriately At the corners of the building blocks the ramps are shaped with a total humiliation of the corner when there is not sufficient width of the sidewalk The sidewalks have an altitude difference with the road 015 m and the ramps for vehicle access to existing parking spaces are made in the first 055 m and not in the whole width of the sidewalk Pedestrian crossings are organized every 800 m to ensure safe passage of pedestrians at every point of the axis Rainfall runoff is provided lighting urban planting equipmentshare on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
