The IM of Agios Nikolaos or Palaiomonastiro is located in a cavernous canyon formation and at a distance of about 1 5 km north of the settlement of Valtesiniko of the Municipality of Klitoros of Arcadia The monastery is built in a natural rocky cavity with masonry only on one side and the rest of the area is formed by the rocky formations It consists of two hermitages formed in small cavities of the rock of Agios Nikolaos and the Ascension which are declared as historically preserved monuments with the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change. Preservation of the frescoes and the wood-carved decoration of the two hermitages With the proposed work, the Holy Monastery of Agios Nikolaos or Palaiomonastiro will be attributed both to the inhabitants of the area and to the visitors pilgrims fully functional and safe so as to meet its values as a historical listed monument but also to the requirements of its use as a religious site
