The project concerns the construction and operation of urban wastewater management infrastructure in the wider area of Palaikastro of the Municipality of Sitia in addition to the existing ones. Specifically, it is planned to construct gravitational wastewater collection networks in the extension area of Palaikastro in the settlement of Vigla and in the coastal zone of the area of Kouremenos and Plakopoules with a total length of approximately 11240 m. Construction of 2 septic tank pumping stations and depressive wastewater transport pipelines with a total length of approximately 4314 m. Construction of a new wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 4500 equivalent inhabitants Construction of an irrigation tank of 600 m2 and an irrigation network for the reuse of treated wastewater in crops in the area and a pipeline for the transport and disposal of treated wastewater in a part of the neighboring stream at the site of the WWTP in periods of inability to use it for irrigation purposes.
