The object of the Act is the provision of integrated social care and support services for persons with disabilities chronic diseases and their families These services aim to contribute to the fight against discrimination and to the promotion and protection of all human and constitutionally guaranteed rights as established by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which was ratified by the Greek State by Law 40742012. In addition, the Act aims to remove obstacles and social exclusion of beneficiaries in the promotion of their social inclusion and the formation of a more inclusive local community of the Municipality of Thessaloniki.
