The study area has been confronted several times in recent years with flooding phenomena due to the absence of a rainwater drainage network of mild surface slopes that make it difficult or impossible for the natural runoff of rainwater and the constantly increasing urbanization that is quite often accompanied by the obsolescence or destruction of old artificial agricultural passages for the removal of rainwater waterfalls The Municipality of Chios to address the problem of flooding in the area of Kampos proposes the construction of a new network consisting of two branches The THA3 that starts from the Mayor Kalkovoresis Street then turns to Irini Paidousi Street and continues to Kalkovoresis then goes on to Litsaki Street and contributes to the THA2 at Chalkousis Zannis Street The length of the THA3 is 1175 meters approximately The THA2 which starts from Stroubis Street until its confluence with the THA3 is 1285 meters long After their contribution, the pipeline becomes a cement pipe Φ1500 for a length of about 870 meters until its estuary in the Kokkala stream.
