Supergrätzl Favorites - Climate adaptation measures

The aim of the project is to calm, green and attractive the area between Gudrunstraße, Leebgasse, Quellenstraße and Neilreichgasse. Transit traffic is completely prevented in the Supergrätzl. The core area will be converted into a designed pedestrian zone. In the pedestrian zone, on diagonal filters and along the streets, green areas are being built with new tree plantings, which are complemented by small-scale recreation areas. In densely built-up residential areas such as Innerfavoriten, little public space is available. As a result of climate change, the development and large-scale sealing cause it to become increasingly hot in the summer months. The present project to change the transport organisation and implement the planned measures will create space for high-quality greening, unsealing and cooling as well as a fairer distribution of the road space in accordance with the objectives of STEP 2025.
