The main objective of the planned investment is to ensure adequate flood safety against the high waters of the Savinja River and its tributaries in the area of the municipalities of Braslovče, Polzela and Laško, which will significantly reduce the flood risk in the wider Savinja River Basin area. The objective will be achieved through the implementation of comprehensive measures to improve the flow of watercourses, the construction of flood protection infrastructure and the establishment and activation of spillage areas. The measures include the arrangement of the section of the Savinja River between Grobeljski most and Mali Braslovče (in the area of the Ločica-Letuš NPP), including dykes, walls, flow-through facilities and nature-based solutions, as well as local measures to protect the area of Rečica in Debru (Laško), where dykes and arrangements for the retention and channelling of high waters will be implemented.
