The aim of the project is to demin a total of 34,515.087 m2 (3,451.5 ha) of forest and forest land from mine-explosives (MES) and unexploded ordnance (UXO), in the area of 5 counties (Karlovačka, Ličko-senjska, Sisak-Moslavačka, Split-Dalmatia and Šibenik-Knin). Demining activities will be carried out at 45 demining sites and the implementation of the project will enable the effective reduction of mine suspected areas (MIA), improving the safety of citizens and tourists in the Republic of Croatia, protecting the health and life of people, protecting the environment and preserving property. Out of 45 demining sites, 20 are located in a protected area of the Natura 2000 ecological network. The applicant is the Ministry of the Interior (MoI).
