Video surveillance and early detection of forest fires - FIRESTOP The purpose of the project is to expand the system for early detection of forest fires by installing an additional 82 cameras at 39 locations in the coastal area and 2 in the continental part of the Republic of Croatia, and the project will cover an area of 95,488 ha of state forests in nine counties. Expanding the system will increase safety and forest fire protection. By strengthening the existing video surveillance system, the initial fires will be detected in real time and thus shorten the time until the fire brigade intervention. It will also facilitate the cooperation of firefighting forces in the field (coordination) when extinguishing fires. This integrated approach aims to contribute to climate change adaptation and to strengthen resilience to the increased risks of forest fires in these areas.share on FacebookTwitterLinkedinEmailreport an issue
