The project ‘Improving the water-communal infrastructure of the Rijeka agglomeration’ will bring the Rijeka agglomeration into line with the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) and the Urban Waste Water Treatment Directive (91/271/EEC) in order to achieve and preserve good water status in order to protect human life and health and to protect aquatic and water-dependent ecosystems. Activities under the project include the reconstruction of the water supply system; new construction, reconstruction and rehabilitation of drainage systems and CS; design, construction and trial operation of wastewater treatment plants (capacity 200.000 ES, level II treatment).
