5. Digital transformation tool – less developed area

The findings of the ex-ante study identify the needs of Walloon SMEs in terms of accelerating digitalisation and digital transformation. It is therefore worth capitalising on SOCAMUT’s experience to define a specific instrument to meet these needs. SOCAMUT has a long experience in financial instruments co-financed by the regional structural funds and is developing a financial instrument to facilitate access to finance for these needs for SMEs at all stages of their lives. The aim of this tool is to strengthen digital maturity, sustainable growth and the competitiveness of SMEs, through easier access to finance: provision of loans to eligible enterprises, together with private financing. The loans granted will be of a subordinate nature. In addition, the intervention logic foresees synergies between operators involved in the digital transformation of SMEs.
