Howest is developing a Digital Health Lab, coupled with a demonstration and training space, innovation and co-creation space, and sufficient office space. This lab with the main theme preventive health facilitates the operation of the innovation cluster digital health. The Digital Health Lab is based on a coordinated collaboration between Howest as a knowledge institute and POM West Flanders, as a government organization, ifv networking and connection with the companies and healthcare organizations. The Digital Health Lab will act as an innovation cluster. This will be set up in coordination with existing initiatives, such as Health House and the regional outhouses (under construction). The Digital Health Lab will consist of three main sections: Demonstration panel where companies and healthcare organizations are inspired by state-of-the-art digital solutions, partly from the valorisation and/or innovation panel of the Digital Health Lab. Innovation section where preventive digital solutions for the healthcare sector are researched, evidence-based tested and developed in consultation and in collaboration with the companies. Here new technological developments within preventive digital health are detected and monitored, with the aim of developing a minimal viable product that can be implemented within preventive care. Valorisation hatch where new preventive digital solutions are valorised together with the companies. Companies are guided in the elaboration of various aspects of the go to market process of their product. These last two sections will be further developed through an operational file in the ERDF GTI W-VL.
