Within Vertiport, a functional air bridge (including workflow and test flights) will be set up from Ostend to a wind farm, so that infrastructure inspections at sea and goods transport to and from the wind farms can be carried out via drones. In addition, possible additional air bridges in West Flanders that offer a similar economic and ecological advantage compared to classic forms of transport are also being studied. In addition, the two regional airports of Ostend and Wevelgem are involved in the development of future proof air bridges. The actual test flights within this project will be set up from Ostend. With a view to further roll-out and scaling up, a theoretical model is being developed for Wevelgem. After all, regional airports also allow larger types of drones to be received.
