As a smart food hub, VEG-i-TEC wants to be an accelerator to help food companies innovate to achieve their energy and water-related KPIs, to be more independent from the widely varying energy and water prices, and to keep raw material shortages and production costs under control (competitive product range) without compromising on the quality/safety of the finished product. For example, it will be investigated how advanced smart energy and water management can lead to water, electricity and heat optimizations. On the basis of this project and the existing infrastructure, research projects will be set up.
