Digital innovation can no longer be ignored in our society and will only increase in importance. However, it is not easy to get SMEs to digitalise as well. The challenges are numerous, the answers come in scattered battle order. West Flanders, characterised by a strong SME fabric, is catching up in the field of digitisation. To address this, local accessible Sustainable Digital Innovation Infopoints will be set up on the Howest campuses in Kortrijk and Bruges, acting as points of contact for SMEs to visit as part of their innovation search with regard to digital transformation. After this project, SMEs will be able to use the Sustainable Digital Innovation Info Points to: Get information and inspiration on innovative digital technologies and digitisation processes already available and developed in research projects; To obtain information and inspiration about possible forms of cooperation with Howest in the field of digitisation, to be able to valorise existing results in their context and to be referred to support that they can receive in this regard, for example through regular VLAIO instruments; Use available infrastructure and equipment related to digitalisation.The guidance of SMEs can be followed up through innovation projects and services, whether or not using regular support instruments. By making previously developed research results and infrastructure widely available and presenting them in a manageable way, we give a boost to SMEs to accelerate their implementation in their context. Finally, we do not want to limit ourselves to our own research results, which can also be included, for example, in the framework of the European Universities Alliance Regional University Network (RUN-EU), developed by and together with our close partners at home and abroad. This dossier concerns the infrastructural realisation and the operationalisation of these information points at Howest.
