This territorial methanization project led by the company CVBEE24 Port de Bordeaux aims to provide a local, sustainable, economically stable and environmentally responsible solution to the valorisation of organic matter of all economic actors of the territory in the form of renewable energy (biomethane) and organic fertilizer (digestate). This project will also provide a local solution to the management of packaged waste with the implementation of an efficient deconditioning system to meet the regulatory obligations of the end of 2023. This unit will mainly deal with organic matter composed of waste from agri-food industries and bio-waste from large and medium-sized areas and will thus help to avoid the emission of around 8000 t/year of greenhouse gases. The unit aims for an annual average biomethane production of 30,000 MWh/year to be injected into the gas distribution network at a flow rate of 330 Nm3/h.
