The project Regeneration of the Creative Business District Area-Phase A1 includes Trikoupi Street from the NO roundabout to the south of the junction with Lefkonos Street and sections of the roads. This area is considered particularly important as it is the entrance to the Creative Business Quarter. The technical works aim at the overall remodeling of the space defined by the facades of the buildings, consisting of public and private roads and public and private sidewalks (in the few cases that exist). The aim of the project is to highlight Trikoupi Street as the main link between the Creative Business District and Nicosia, by attracting and installing new creative activities in the degraded city center. The project achieves the upgrading of the urban environment and the emergence of important monuments and buildings of the area, the treatment of traffic problems and facilitation of the movement of people with disabilities as well as the creation of common spaces for use by local residents and visitors. Renovation of roads and underground utilities (Technical part of the project): Includes the redesign of roads and sidewalks as well as a small square at the junction of Trikoupi and Thrace streets. The total regeneration area is 4,310 m2. The road axis length on the main road of Trikoupi to be redeveloped shall be 385,5 m, with an additional axle length of 238 m on contracting lanes with the main road. New traffic regulations-geometric standards, horizontal and vertical road signs are applied, while new road and pavement alignments are made, which will be constructed at a uniform altitude. 5 new pedestrian crossings are constructed and standards are applied for safe and uninterrupted movement of pedestrians and people with disabilities. In addition, provision is made for the installation of new street lighting, a new integrated underground rainwater runoff network, the rebuilding of a BSS network at new altitudes, the underground use, the upgrading and completion of networks of services/utilities, new urban equipment, the planting of a tree-lined roadside, etc. Maintenance / Restoration of facades (Building Part of the Project): Maintenance / Restoration of facades of all the buildings on the above streets, in 52 buildings with a total surface area of 9286 m2. Depending on the condition of each building, necessary works such as works on masonry, frames, roof finishes, gutter systems, metal shutters and irons, etc. are also carried out.
