The urban intervention area lacks adequate social daycare services, infants and children. To address these shortcomings, the building "Georgia Polyviou" and the "Park of Joy" are being used, the restoration and configuration of which was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in the 2014-2020 programming period, while its programmes and services are co-financed by the European Social Fund (ESF+) in the 2021-2027 programming period, under the 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy Programme. The care and employment function for infants aged 2 to 5 and children aged 6 to 12 aims to serve the childcare needs of vulnerable families and especially of women who, due to the care of their children, find it difficult to integrate or remain in the labour market. To achieve the above goals, the Rainbow Child Care and Employment Center provides care services for toddlers and children. Specifically, the Center aims:- to operate a "Kindergarten" for children aged 2-5 years. The aim of the program is to be the continuation and complement of family education, achieving the healthy and all-round development of infants. Through the educational and interactive activities offered, children gradually develop their special inclinations and abilities. They learn to express their feelings, develop their imagination and most importantly, they learn to cooperate by acquiring solid foundations and social skills in their first steps. The primary goal is the psycho-emotional maturity of children, which is an important factor in the development of their thinking and their way of learning. The program offers incentives and stimuli for a variety of activities based on the specific characteristics and stage of development of each age. Appropriate feeding and rest of children are part of the operation of the kindergarten. The program is offered from Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 18:00 with the possibility of service until 20:00 for eligible parents who demonstrably work until 20:00 and are in need of care and care for their children. - the operation of a "Centre for the Protection and Employment of Children" aged 6-12 years. The program is offered during the school period and during school holidays from Monday to Saturday and includes picking up children from Primary Schools by bus and transporting them to the Center, hot lunch and afternoon snacks, guiding children to carry out school work and safekeeping. The program also includes creative activities as well as educational activities and takes advantage of technological means, such as computers, tablets and interactive boards. With the help of modern technological means, the teaching of the concept of multiculturalism and diversity is provided, as well as English language lessons, fine arts, etc. During the school holidays, the program is enriched with excursions/visits as well as a variety of recreational activities.
