As part of the functional reorganisation of the CREC Marine Station site in Luc-Sur-Mer, the Region is providing €4,471,983 from 1 March 2016 to 31 September 2022. This initial support enabled the first buildings to be restructured. The University of Caen Normandie is requesting support from the Normandy Region for phase 2 of the works, for the ‘hatchery/workshop’ and ‘Front de mer’ buildings, for a total of EUR 4 million. With this restructuring, the hatchery/workshop building will receive the holdings and experimental boxes subject to the rules on animal testing; the waterfront building will receive the farms and experimental boxes not subject to animal testing regulations, as well as the Station’s meeting/seminar premises.
