Development of innovative ink jet printing technology on glass bottles

The aim of the project is to develop a new ink jet printing technology on glass bottles, characteristic that: — bottles during printing are placed upright and can be filled, – during one turn of the bottle in the printing station a layer of printing of a maximum height of 210 mm is applied, – silver may be present in the role of the printing material, – multilayer printings, forming the 3D texture on the bottle surface are applied with high efficiency, without compromising their quality. All the functionalities indicated above will be new in the world. On the basis of the results of the project, a new process of ink jet printing on glass bottles will be introduced into Dekorglass business, allowing the start of new services (product innovation): — digital printing on bottles positioned upright, – 3D digital printing on bottles positioned upright, – digital printing with silver on bottles positioned upright. The target groups to which the new Dekorglass offer will be addressed are: — producers of alcoholic beverages, with particular attention to producers of premium-class alcohols and producers of sparkling wines and champagne, – producers of cosmetics, with particular regard to perfume producers. The project involves implementation of two stages: one stage of industrial research and one stage of development.
