Development and commissioning of precision casting of components of the low pressure turbine PW1000 turbofan engine using new generation ceramic filters produced by 3D printing methods

SA.41471(2015/X) Purpose of public aid: Article 25 of EC Regulation No 651/2014 of 17 June 2014 declaring certain types of aid compatible with the internal market in the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty (OJ L. I'm sorry. EU L 187/1 of 26.06.2014)The subject of the project is to develop a new precision casting technology for the range of low-pressure turbine components forming an integral part of the new generation of aircraft engines of the PW1000 family, assembled in, among others, Airbus A320neo aircraft. The aim of the project is to improve existing unit manufacturing processes geometrically complex and meeting high operational requirements of blade castings through industrial research, development and pre-implementation in relation to: — process design using numerical simulations, – production and quality control of wax casting models and model kits, – production of multi-layer ceramic casting moulds, – melting and vacuum casting using printed ceramic filters, – quality control of castings using high-sensitive filmless RTG technology, – casting repair using arc techniques. Individual changes in individual processes will be tested and verified as part of the demonstration series of castings and their comprehensive control. The new approach proposed in the project to the implementation of complex precision casting processes and, above all, the use of ceramic filters, produced using 3D printing technology, will increase the reliability of individual production stages, thereby minimising the costs of poor quality.
