Carrying out advanced R & D work to develop innovative hardware and software solutions for 5G Standalone networks, aimed at developing unique technologies and applications, significantly improving the quality of mobile internet connection and enabling the use of previously unused radio bands.

The project involves the use of the 3rd largest research unit of the Nokia Group (Group) in the world, i.e. Nokii Solutions and Networks (NSN) with CBR status to develop optimal solutions for globally innovative implementation of 5G Standalone system with a specific set of functionalities. This responds to the important challenges of the telecoms market to enable M2M, IoT systems to function and increase network capacity and data transmission, along with increasing the reliability of mobile internet connections. The technology developed within the project will be addressed to the largest mobile network operators in Poland and Europe, and its implementation will take place no later than 3 years after the completion of the project. The main technological problem with the plan to develop a well-functioning 5G Standalone network is the need to create many new solutions in the network from scratch, due to new requirements for wireless networks. The consequence of this is the need to carry out comprehensive R & D works covering hardware and software solutions, which in addition will fit into the requirements of 3GPP standards. The issues to be developed in the framework of the project include R & D in the area of: 1) Industrial research in the field of development of hardware layer architecture 2) development works in the field of: preparation of the control layer for 5G Standalone connections on the software side and, among others, development of digital base station components and improved user connection management, functional development and combination to L3 layer for 5G Standalone with all the innovations developed. Achieving the goal will be possible thanks to the extensive experience of the NSN, commitment
