Demonstration of technologies for manufacturing innovative steel castings for use under extreme operating conditions

The aim of the project is to develop innovative steel castings in the course of development, designed to be used in extreme operating conditions and in an extremely aggressive working environment, among others, in extremely low temperatures of up to-60 amps;C or at depths below 3000 m (product innovation according to def. Oslo Manual). New products due to their unique technical parameters will be dedicated primarily to the mining, railway and energy industries. The new products will achieve the following characteristics: •high strength properties; •possibility to use in extreme operating conditions; •high metallurgical purity and minimisation of non-metallic inclusions; •reducing the size of mechanical processing allowances; Reduced spatial inconsistencies in castings will represent a competitive advantage of new steel castings compared to the competitive solutions available on the world market. The project is part of KIS 10-modern technologies for the extraction, processing and use of natural raw materials and the production of substitutes. When the Applicant accedes to the project, the test solution has completed VI level of TRL and is prepared for the implementation of VII TRL (the applicant has a functional prototype of new castings tested under laboratory conditions).
