SN cable lines are a key element of the distribution network. Knowledge of the technical status of this network is very limited and is mainly based on failure analysis. Such an evaluation system is ineffective. The project includes the development of an effective tool for assessing the state of isolation and risk of failure of cable lines SN. For this purpose, integrated knowledge from diagnostic measurements, technical and operational data and research results will be used. Research and development is ongoing worldwide to define diagnostic-based assessment criteria, so far there are no standards. This project is therefore an innovative project. In part of industrial research, the Health Index for cable lines will be developed. The research will use the experience obtained from measurements of incomplete discharges in the area of Elbląga (the longest history of measurements in Poland) and the results of a doctoral thesis based on measurements in the years 2003-2009. It is planned to carry out measurements extending the test period by further years to 2020. As part of the development work, based on the Health Index, a prototype of the IT system will be made to assess the risk of failures in cable lines. It will be verified and calibrated during the tests carried out in the pilot area. The main result of the project will be the prototype of an innovative IT tool SORAL that allows to assess and manage the condition of cable lines based on predictive maitanance. The results of the project in the form of a prototype IT solution SORAL will first be implemented and used in business in ENERGA-OPERATOR SA (EOP).
