The aim of the project is to develop economically viable production technology for dimethyl ether as an alternative to conventional fuels used at sea and on land. Dimethyl ether (DME) is considered a new generation fuel as an environmentally friendly multi-source storage and distribution medium with wide use. It is particularly appreciated because of: 1. Direct use as efficient and clean fuel for diesel engines and fuel cells. 2. Versatile use as an intermediate link in the production of many industrial chemicals and other fuels. 3. High efficiency as a fuel in various applications. It is considered to be the most promising substitute for diesel. Burn without emitting dust and with a minimum amount of NOx (nitrogen oxides). Diesel engines powered by DME achieve parameters that meet the most stringent emission standards in the EU and the USA.
