The project involves developing and verifying during research and development of intelligent storage system supported by transport robots (hereinafter INTRO) capable of undertaking and moving pallet cargo units. The developed system will complement partially automated storage systems used to support the e-commerce industry. The robot will be equipped with devices and software to operate in the human environment, in particular in terms of following the operator and stopping when a human presence is detected on the planned road. The device will be autonomous in determining the topology of storage space. The use of machine learning techniques will allow for automatic interpretation of the environment by the robot. Intro will be the realisation of the concept of goods-to-person, which allows to optimise warehouse processes by, among others, shortening the process of preparing shipments for shipments, reducing the number of errors, reducing employment and improving the use of storage space. The idea of developing the INTRO system is the applicant’s response to the dynamic development of the e-commerce industry in Poland, which generates demand for new warehouse spaces and solutions that support their processes. The development of INTRO requires addressing a number of issues concerning both INTRO mechanical components, such as robots, transhipment stations, service stations, as well as programming issues that enable the integration of these elements. The project consists of: — the design phase of INTRO components, their tests in virtual reality and laboratory conditions – development of the operating management system for mobile robots – development of functional management software integrated with WMS
