Laboratory mouse is the most popular model organism involved in around 75 % of experimental studies. Due to genetic and physiological similarity to human and availability of tools for genetic modifications, there are many mouse models of human diseases such as cancer, diabetes, neurodegenerative disorders etc. These models enable observation of pathophysiological processes on the molecular, biochemical, histological, systemic and behavioral levels and serve a major experimental tool in Preclinical aiming to develop new therapies. The goal of the project is to develop integrated platform for biomedical research using animal models. The platform in the Laboratory of Animal Models will be based on interdisciplinary, highly qualified team, specialised in generating and phenotyping of mice models for research and applied science purpose. We will extend and fully exploit our existing laboratory capabilities to create the unit able to fulfill growing demands of science and business.
