The project “Reconstruction of the existing district heating network in Gdańsk in order to reduce losses on transfers together with the decommissioning of group nodes” planned by GPEC sp. z o.o. aims at: 1) Improving the efficiency of the transmission and distribution of heat to existing individual customers, industrial, service and public utilities in Gdańsk by: — conversion of selected sections in the urban heating system in Gdańsk into pre-insulated networks, – liquidation of selected group nodes and construction of individual nodes. 2) Providing the supply of heat produced in the process of high-efficiency cogeneration to the areas of Gdańsk; 3) Reducing the so-called. “low emissions” in areas where there are supranormative PM10 concentration levels (Gdansk) for which an air protection programme has been developed – the project is located entirely in the City of Gdańsk, where the “Update of the Air Protection Programme for the Tri-city Agglomeration Zone where the PM10 suspended particulate matter is exceeded and the target level of benzo(a)pyrene” has been adopted; 4)Supporting the objectives set by PNG OMG-G-S. LOCALISATION of the project is the area of Gdańsk. The investment includes modernisation of existing sections of district heating networks in the area of Dmowskiego, Wileńska and Nałkowska Streets, Zwycięstwa, Skarżyńskiego, Traugutta, Leśna Góra and in the area of Kopeckiego Street. The scope of the project also includes the liquidation of two group districts of CWU Skarżyński and CWU Kopecki and the construction of individual nodes. The project is focused on the modernisation of selected sections in the GPEC district heating network (MSC) in Gdańsk.
