The direct objective of the project is to reduce the negative impact of tourism on habitats and protected species in the Tatra National Park. This objective stems from the specific needs diagnosed by the applicant: — Bad technical condition of hiking trails in the area of the upper part of the Chochołowska Valley on a stretch of 16 km. This results in a scattering of tourist traffic beyond marked trails, which affects the trampling of vegetation and soil erosion and consequently decreases the area of habitats. — Increasing pressure on animal species from extra-circular tourism, which causes animals to be spooked in their habitats. The installation of traffic-responsive photo traps will increase the efficiency of park services in reducing illegal hiking and skiing, which will improve the living conditions of Tatra species. The realisation of the project and the achievement of the objectives will translate into: — a result indicator in the form of habitats supported to achieve a better conservation status; target value – 3,899 ha, – product indicator: 7 habitat types covered by conservation measures, – output indicator: 20 species covered by conservation measures.
