Active protection of Aldrovanda vesiculosa (Aldrovanda vesiculosa) in the Lublin region

The project aims to carry out effective actions to protect the biodiversity of the flora of lakes with specific trophic status, for which in recent years there has been a drastic decline in the number and size of the population of specific insectivorous plant species in the Łęczyńsko-Włodawski Lake District. The primary objective of the project is to protect the active vesicular almond, Aldrovanda vesiculosa, insectivorous species of the family Droseraceae, by supporting and restoring its population in the Lublin region. According to GDOŚ, the population declined by around 90 % since the 50s. Between 1992 and 1998, aldrowanda was introduced to 8 replacement posts, of which 5 were located in the Łęczyńsko-Włodawski Lake District (Results of GDOŚ 2012 monitoring). Currently, according to the data of the Polish National Park, vesicular almond sites are located in two sites in the lakes Lukie and Longe, but their condition is considered unsatisfactory, both in terms of population size and in terms of habitat quality (Project of the Plan for the Protection of PPN 2015). According to GDOŚ (2012), in the Łęczyńsko-Włodawski Lake District, outside the Poleskie National Park, there is one confirmed position of the species in Lake Płotycze. Activities aimed at the restitution of the species will be carried out in sites in Polesie National Park (Długie, Moszne and Karaśne lakes) and in areas adjacent to the Polish National Park, lakes: Brzeziczno (nature reserve of Lake Brzeziczno), Lukietek (ecological use), peatmeat located in the area of Krugły Bagno (ecological use) and Orchowe lake (ecological use located in Sobibor Landscape Park) (an annex map). The plants needed to carry out the project will be obtained in ex situ tissue cultures, and the created mother will be used to create new and supply the current vesicular almond populations. Appropriately prepared plants with
