Improving the quality of the urban environment of Świętochłowice commune – remediation of degraded and contaminated areas in the Kalina pond with restoration of its biological activity

The investment is located in the Silesian Voivodeship, in the city under the rights of the Świętochłowice district. The project will be implemented on parcels owned by the beneficiary with numbers 3821/1, 3819, 3816, 1133/14, 3813, 97, 98, 3657, 835/107, 1396/84,1398/113. The area covered by the investment is directly adjacent to ecological land – Forest on Mount Hugona (direct neighbourhood with plot No. 3816 entering the project area – details. 2.1.1 SW). The scope of the project includes the remediation of degraded and contaminated areas in the Kalina pond area with the restoration of biological activity of the pond itself. The total area of the remediated area shall be 10.44 ha. In the areas covered by the application and in neighbouring areas, there are no: water intakes, sports grounds, clinics, schools, hospitals, playgrounds. There are residential buildings and land gardens.There are forms of nature conservation – ecological use – forest on Mount Hugona. The project envisages the following work: 1. Remediation of the ground-water environment with the following directions of action: —I KIERUNEK – Cutting the impact of pollutants from the heap region by using tight walls around the base of the heap to eliminate further influx. —II KIERUNEK – Removal of bottom sediment and bioremediation of reservoir water to eliminate the possibility of secondary ground contamination by water from the reservoir. —III KIERUNEK – Conducting land remediation using in-situ, bioremediation and phytoremediation methods. 2.Natural land use – planting of vegetation, 3. Target land development with installation of small architecture. As a result of the project, new biologically active surfaces will be created, targeting 9.23 ha,
