This project aims to adapt the public intermodal terminal in Ostrów Grabowski in Port Szczecin for handling ships with higher tonnage, thanks to the use of transhipment equipment adapted to handle container ships with submersible up to 11.5 m. This creates an opportunity for the terminal to acquire additional volumes due to shipowners which were not able to call to Szczecin due to the lack of navigation possibilities. It will be possible to operate ships requiring the use of an STS overhead crane up to 17 rows. 3 X-ray cranes (rubber tyre gantry) or equivalents that meet operational and performance requirements will also be purchased. The scope of this Project includes the purchase of the following equipment: — Purchase of 1 STS overhead cranes (non-infrastructure expenditure) – Purchase of 3 RTG overhead cranes (non-infrastructure expenditure) The project also includes the necessary expenditure on: — Information and promotion activities – Legal services (related to project support) Thanks to the investment, the terminal will be able to handle 180 000 TEU per year (with unchanged terminal operating hours compared to the current situation). Current terminal capacity based on the capacity of STS overhead cranes (ship-to-shore) or equivalents meeting operational and performance requirements is estimated at 120 000 TEU.
