Route of the Łódź Railway Node (TEN-T), stage II, section Łódź Fabryczna – Łódź Kaliska/Łódź Żabieniec

The subject of the project is the construction of a railway line in the linear tunnel (REG-A) from the Łódź Kaliska station and from the Łódź Żabieniec passenger stop to the Łódź Fabryczna station with the construction of stops in the area of Ogrodowa/Karskiego/Drewnowska Streets and in the area of the intersection of Zielona and Zachodni streets. For a railway line in the diameter tunnel, the following technical conditions are specified: • Max design speed 100 km/h. • Allowable axle load: 221 kN The investment is expected to: works in the track industry, necessary road investments adapting the street layout and route of public transport lines to the work carried out, especially in the areas of entrance and exit of the tunnel under and to the surface and in the area of possible intermediate stations. The tunnels will be made in the form of: • one two-track circular tunnel, which will run from Łódź Fabryczna station to the intermediate stop “Łódź Ogrodowa”; • a two-track tunnel made by opencast method, which will run from the intermediate stop “Łódź Ogrodowa” to the area of Odolanowska Street; • four single track tunnels made by opencasting method, which will run from Odolanowska Street to join railway line No 15; • the “Green Lodz” stop will be made by the opencast method.
