The project included the construction of a two-track line of 400 kV Piła Krzewina – Plewiska (temporarily working at a voltage of 220 kV) together with the expansion of the SE Piła Krzewina and SE Plewiska stations. The direct objective of the Project is to: a) improvement of network safety in the north-western area of the country, improvement of power supply of the Wielkopolska area, b) improving the conditions for power extraction from PGE Mining and Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A. Branch Zespół Elektrowni Dolna Odra (hereinafter referred to as: Lower Odra Power Plant) towards SE Plewiska (through SE Baczyna under construction), c) creating conditions for possible subsequent connection of RES, d) improving transmission for cross-border exchanges between the electricity systems of Poland and Germany. e) implementation of the Project will enable increased transmission capacity, improve the safety of the network operation in the north-western area of the country. The aim of the project is also to: a) Reducing transmission congestion in the CEA, in order to allow safe and reliable exchange of electricity. b) improve the quality of transmission of electricity. c) Improve the reliability of the operation of the entire KSE.
